Our Mission

Many of us do not know what to say to someone with a life threatening illness or diagnosis. A quick Google search leaves you with generic lists of what to say and what not to say, but doesn’t delve much deeper. This site focuses on what to say, how to listen and support. To allow the patient and family to feel loved, but most importantly feel listened to, heard and understood.

After a long and difficult battle with cancer and liver disease Ariel Joy Fixler is at peace.

During her last months, Ariel conceived her legacy and created The Fixler Foundation and its website. It’s a free, 1-stop resource and support for those who are ill & those who care for them.
Ariel said “You will find music, photos, writings and contributions from the greater community and especially, Ariel’s writing.  See especially the Helpful Advice section.”
In her memory, we ask you to share this site as widely as possible to help us continue her legacy. You can donate to The Fixler Foundation by clicking the button below.
